About me

Where I grew up, having a big family was the norm. I have three brothers and three sisters, 20 maternal aunts and uncles, lots of nieces and nephews, and loads of cousins, too many to count! As part of such a huge family, each one quickly learned how to take care of each other, and my love for children and childcare had been ingrained in me. Although I completed a liberal arts degree, I gravitated towards childcare jobs. I managed to work with several families while pursuing my degree.
I have held several titles, including nanny, babysitter, and date night sitter, to name a few. Although the goal of each arrangement was to ensure a safe, nurturing, and loving environment for the children in my care, each family’s needs varied. I would prepare bottles by mixing formula for some families, while for others, I defrosted breast milk. Some families required light meal prep and light housekeeping, while others insisted that many outdoor activities were the most important. I scheduled play dates and trips to various parks and zoos, planned birthday parties, arranged doctor’s visits, and maintained napping schedules. To develop a love of learning and books, I ensure that storytime happens every day.
Apart from childcare, I enjoy traveling, tasting new foods, and being a silly mom to my three kids. I enjoy being silly with the children in my care, enabling their creativity and curiosity while gently ensuring structure and limits, which I’ve realized children thrive on and love. I enjoy hugs and smiles at the end of each day which symbolizes a job well done! I have found that children relate to anyone who can meet them at their level.
