About me

I grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y with my dad and six sisters. With such a full house, there was never a dull moment and as a child, I especially loved art and music. Growing up, I also developed a love of cooking and the overall feeling of family. I attended Andrews University, MI, where I completed my Bachelor's degree in biology in 2010. Upon graduating, I came back to NY and began nannying as I looked for work related to my degree. I always had an appreciation for children but never expected to enjoy nannying so much.
When I began nannying, I didn't anticipate how fulfilled I would feel helping in the care and nurturing of children. This is why I've spent the last 11 years working as a nanny and caring for some of the most wonderful children. I have worked with children ranging in age from 1-14. My most experience thus far has been working with 2-3-year-olds. One of the best things about this age is witnessing the growth and transitions from toddler to being confident and independent boys and girls. In my role as a nanny, I have changed diapers, played, made schedules and playdates, taken the kids to parks/ museums/ activities, cooked, and everything in between. One of my favorite activities to do with children is reading, and I always look for times in which we can just sit together and read. Throughout this time, I have worked as a full-time nanny/housekeeper, part-time sitter as well as date night sitter. I have even traveled and stayed with families at their secondary homes or on vacations. I'm also experienced with children with special needs because I cared for one child with Fragile X Syndrome. He was the sweetest child and just needed some extra help, love, and patience.
Family and the sense of warmth, togetherness, and love that comes from such an atmosphere are paramount in my life. I've learned that bringing that attitude to any home I work in, makes work not feel like work anymore. I believe children are happiest when you can get on their level to connect, whether it's playing on the floor, being silly, making a mess together, or simply listening to them, such things can be vital to their well-being and aid in them becoming kind people.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

In 5 years I hope to be doing what I love. I enjoy working with children and have a passion for science/ medicine, so ideally I'd love to do more schooling to work in a setting where I can do both.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love reading with kids and play boards games. I especially like to teach kids game that we can play with each other( scrabble, monopoly, chutes and ladders, etc...). I also enjoy doing cooking projects together to see if we can turn regular ingredients into something tasty!
