About me

I grew up in Oaxaca, Mexico and I am the eldest of three siblings. My first passions were painting, reciting poems and playing soccer and basketball. I moved to Puebla where I graduated with a Bachelor in Communications at the Benemerita Universidad Autonoma de Puebla. After school, I started working as a freelance singer, teaching ukulele and singing to children from 6 to 9 years old.

My connection with children has always been organic. At family parties, you could find me playing soccer with the children in the backyard. I am naturally patient with children, and that’s what led me to coaching children in singing and playing ukulele. I worked as a singing and ukulele teacher for one year, going to the children’s homes.

I became an Au pair in 2018, working with a family of two children (8 year old girl and 10 year old boy) in Piedmont, CA. Duties included picking the children up from school, driving them to their after-school activities, meal prepping, doing laundry, helping with bed routines. I continued my program for 1.5 years more with a family of three children (7 year old girl, 10 and 12 year old boys) in Maplewood, NJ. My duties included helping them get ready for school, keeping track of their busy schedules, driving them to their after school activities, prepping snacks, packing uniforms and equipment, prepping dinner and tidying up after children. I would occasionally babysit for a family of two children (4 and 5 year old girls), also in Maplewood, NJ.

In 2020 I started working as a part-time nanny for a family of three children in Brooklyn (5 year old girl and 7 year old boy and girl twins). My responsibilities included picking them up from school, walking them to their after school activities, organizing playdates, prepping snacks and lunch for the next day, making dinner and helping with the shower routine. I also did laundry and light housekeeping.

I am currently an after-school nanny for an 11 year old girl on the UES. My responsibilities are picking her from school and taking the bus/subway home, making dinner, reminding her of shower routine, playing games, making music together or listening to audiobooks while having dinner.

I enjoy working with children because they remind me everyday that we are here to constantly learn and evolve. Kindness, patience, love and play will make a better world for children and for adults too.
