About me

I am a native New Yorker and I grew up in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. I was an only child until the age of 17, my little sister is now 10 years old but we couldn't be any closer despite our age gap. I became the go to sitter for my sister as well as other family members. I worked in the Greenpoint YMCA for a couple years as a front desk receptionist and then in an indoor playspace in Manhattan. In both positions I came into contact with career nannies daily and it gave me the push to make a career change myself. I have been nannying professionally for 5 years now and really enjoy it. I am currently CPR and first aid certified but I would love to gain more certificates in child development.
In my first professional nanny position I cared for a set of twin boys 2.5 years old at the time and their one year old sister, we would joke that they were triplets. After that I cared for another set of twins this time, boy/girl age 3. In my most recent position I cared for yet another set of twins, the boys were 10 months old when I started and over 4 year olds when the position ended. In all positions I've handled things such as meal prep, laundry and light housekeeping for the children. A normal day for us would be spent in the park after breakfast, we would spend our time playing ball, blowing bubbles, having races and maybe a picnic. Lunch would be followed by a nap or quiet time and I normally take that time to set up for crafts or some sort of structured activity. After that we engage in free play, such as pretend play and dance parties! Dinner and bath to end the night. I have traveled out of the country with families and maintained schedules that include playdates, museum visits and enrichment classes. I have managed to keep in touch with all families and occasionally sit when needed, it is awesome to catch up and see how much they have grown!
For me being a part of a child's life and growth has been much more rewarding than my past desk jobs. It brings me joy to get out there play, teach and see their personalities develop.
