About me

Hi! I'm Madeleine and I grew up in Broadway, Virginia with a family of 6. I was a super curious and active child who loved to sing, dance, play sports and laugh with my friends! These interests continued into college where I studied Musical Theatre at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA. Following graduation, I was doing touring children’s theatre with Virginia Repertory Theatre. This was the perfect first job out of college because it combined my passions for theatre, travel and working with children.

From a young age, I would watch my 3 younger siblings, family friends, and work in the church nursery. In high school, I began caring for a baby boy and his 3 year old brother who are now 9 and 12 with a 5 year old sister! The first few years consisted of changing diapers, carefully feeding them and nap times. It was a joy to watch them transition into new stages of life where we’d play games and read together, run outside, tackle homework and chores, meal prep and have special movie nights on weekends when their parents needed a night out. In college, I cared for kids ages 5, 10 and 13 where I had similar responsibilities including after school pickups and driving the oldest to various outside activities. While in New York, I’ve been spending a few afternoons a week with a 4, 7 and 9 year old doing after school picks ups, feeding them and safely getting them to their extracurricular activities.

Throughout the years, I have worked with children of all ages and needs with various home lives and backgrounds. It is my goal to make every child I care for feel seen, heard, safe and respected. I want to encourage children to be creative, kind and courageous! Each child I’ve ever worked with is so unique and special. I believe it’s my job as a caretaker to give children both the freedom and the guidance to help them grow into who they are meant to be...and have fun along the way :)
