About me

My name is Geraldine Villafana, I have four siblings and growing up I loved to make clothing, and educate myself on becoming a nurse. My current highest level of education is High School, and since then I’ve been taking care of children in child care in various ages and stages.

I have experience working in child care for over thirty years ranging from newborn through the fifth grade. In the past I’ve had the pleasure of working with twins, multiples, infants, newborns, and preschool aged children. Over the years my responsibilities included cooking, changing diapers, cleaning, feeding, bathing, entertaining and teaching the children. I’ve also done activities outside of the home such as Gymboree, extra curricular activities, drop offs and pick ups from school. Throughout my experience I’ve held positions such as part-time, full-time, live-in, and date-night sitter. Along with my experience, I also possess certifications such as Early Childhood Education and Training, CPR, and Risk and Safety Awareness.

I love cooking, singing, dancing and listening to music, which I find myself incorporating in my everyday life as a child care taker/ sitter. I believe that those aspects of my personality help me engage further with children because they respond to music, melodies and many other things that engage their sensory and cognitive skills. Lastly, what motivates me in this profession is seeing each child go through the various stages and milestones as they grow. It brings me great pleasure to know that I have the tools, knowledge and experience to help each and every child learn and grow and be a supportive figure for the families as well.
