About me

I grew up in Minneapolis, MN with my mom Susan and my older sister Jessica. I was an energetic child who loved to play outside, play sports, play make believe, dress up, cook, dance, get dirty, swim, sled, bike and follow my sister around everywhere she went! I came and went from NYC my whole childhood because my dad lived here. I moved here officially when I was eighteen to attend Eugene Lang College. I received a Bachelors of Arts with a concentration in Literary Studies and Fine Arts. Since graduation I have worked as a Teaching Artist in NYC schools and as a museum educator at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. Being a "Teaching Artist" means I go from school to school and offer supplementary or additional art classes. I am also passionate about music and dance and am in a small dance company dedicated to Brazilian dance styles. Currently I am in the process of applying to graduate school in Social Work.
I have worked with children in a professional capacity for nine years. I have lots of experience offering arts and movement classes to children of all ages in many different settings. I have experience working one on one with students with IEPs and with students from district 75. I also have worked as a babysitter and nanny. My most recent "in-home" experience was from August 2020 to March 2021 I moved to be near my sister and help take care of my nieces during the pandemic. During this time they were 11-18 months old and 3-4 years old. I am very comfortable changing diapers, warming breast milk, cutting food to the appropriate size, doing bath time, bedtime, developmental playtime, etc.
I love working with children. I love that I am able to provide a loving and structured atmosphere for them. I love that I can share my love of movement, dance, healthy foods, art, and humor with them. I am passionate about social and emotional learning and creating a healthy environment for children and all people to flourish in!
