About me

I grew up in the small town of Burlington, Vermont. As the oldest of three, I was often the caretaker and protector of my younger brother and sister. My family practices west African drumming and dance, and that love for the performing arts in my home life inspired me to get into theatre. I recently graduated from Boston University where I obtained my BFA in Theatre Arts. Although performing, directing, and writing are my passions, I've always had a love for teaching. Just as I would teach my younger siblings dances and skits in our very own backyard, I inspire to teach the youth of tomorrow the value and power of the performing arts and their own imagination!

I've worked as a director, teaching artist/assistant, choreographer, and counselor for several theatre institutes and programs for students ages 5-17. My first real job was babysitting a seven year old regularly for three years (2014-2017). I gained in-home care experience through this position, including making meals, organizing daytime activities, and putting him to bed. Throughout high school and into college, I worked as a counselor at theatre day-camps with students ages 5-14. The summers of 2017, 2018 and 2019, I worked at an overnight weeklong summer camp, where I learned how to care for children coming from poverty. There I was certified in CPR, as well as restorative justice practices. In the summer of 2019, I worked as a teaching assistant and resident advisor at a high school pre-college program. In the fall of 2020, I worked at an after school program in Cambridge for elementary school students, and most recently in the summer of 2021, I've worked at a summer school academy focused on racial justice for students ages 13-17. These positions all required me to pay attention to my students needs, create engaging material for them, and nurture their sense of creativity.

Community is important in child-care just as it's important in the performing arts. My life is dedicated to building strong community, and I'd love to have the opportunity to create that dynamic with a family. Children deserve the time to play and have their beautiful imaginations honored, and that's why they inspire me every day!
