About me

I grew up in the small town of Clinton, NJ with my two older brothers Casey and Justin. As a child, I was very quiet until I got the chance to do anything artistic. Getting into theater and music brought me out of my shell and I was always working on some creative project. This passion for the arts brought me to Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, where I received a BA in Theater with Concentrations in Musical Theater and Acting. Since graduation, I have been lucky enough to work on some really special theater projects. Some of my favorite plays I've done have been theater for young audiences' productions. I've found that my work as an actor ties into my work as a nanny. The same openness and listening skills required to be an actor are also required for childcare.

I have worked with children for nearly 7 years. I was a summer nanny for a family with three children, ages 7, 10, and 12. In addition to driving them to the playground, playing board games with them, and jumping with them on their trampoline, my responsibilities included tutoring, providing transportation to and from sporting events and practices, and completing household chores. I was then a backup babysitter for a family of two children, ages 3 and 4. I provided transportation to and from various activities while also preparing meals and snacks for them and of course playing with them. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, I helped a 6-year-old boy with his virtual schooling. My job was to make sure he got online for his virtual classes, stayed focused, and completed all of his schoolwork. I also provided supplementary tutoring in reading and math.

I believe that working in childcare is a way to shape the future of the world. My philosophy is to not talk down to children and treat them like the complex humans they are. When I can help a child become more mindful, confident, and able to express themselves, I feel like I am making the world a better place.
