About me

My name is Leshanda Morris and I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I still live in Brooklyn. I grew up in a large family with 5 siblings. My mother was a foster parent so during childhood I always had lots of other children around. I love to read, going out to eat, and to watch cartoons. I am currently pursuing my Bachelor's of Science of Psychology. I would like to be a child psychologist to be able to provide therapy for young children. Being able to be a safe, caring environment for young children.

I have been working in childcare since 2012. I have cared for children aged newborn to teens. My childcare experience ranges from being a nanny, tutor, to an assistant teacher. I love working in childcare because children are the future and I genuinely love being essential to their growth. As an assistant teacher working at a daycare, I have aided in potty training, provided meals, lead educational activities. As a tutor I have helped with homework, provided out-of-school packets, and improve students' comprehension of difficult subjects, As a nanny, I engage children with reading, arts and crafts, board games. I prepare meals, do light housekeeping, and do bedtime routines.

I love to try new restaurants and cuisines. I love to read which is also one of my favorite things to do with children I care for. My love of children come from growing up with a lot of siblings and foster siblings. I worked my first childcare position in the community center I grew up going to. I was an administrative assistant to the director and I loved hearing the kids come in and greet me every day. I loved stepping in and helping with classes and being the go to in the behind the scenes to have a smooth day in after school. This position allowed me opportunities to tutor children privately and that led me to being a nanny. Each step in my career so far in childcare has been extraordinary. The most rewarding moments for me are knwoing that a child feels safe, loved, and heard while in my care.
