About me
My family is originally from Worcester Massachusetts. We moved to Connecticut when I was about ten years old. I have a younger brother. I live in Brooklyn, and recently finished my MFA at Brooklyn College. My academic background is rich; I dual majored at Eastern Connecticut State University in Visual Arts and Spanish Language and culture. I am a visual artist and language enthusiast. I have long worked in caregiving roles, and find my background as an artist and creative thinker to connect well with children. As an artist, I like to play and have fun, and working with children is the best way to keep up that enthusiasm and wonder at the world.
I've been babysitting since I was 12 years old. Also, growing up, my mother had an in-home daycare, so I have always been around young children. I watched the younger children of our parents' friends. I've cared for children of all ages from infants to teens; I was an educational coach for teens with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I've worked in the preschool on the ESCU Campus and the Windham HeadStart preschool as well. I was a nanny for a family of 6 children for ten years. I've provided live-in and live-out care to various families over the years. I'm very active and energetic; I like to run and explore alongside the youngsters I am providing care for.
Being an artist, I always like to encourage creative learning through play. I definitely enjoy working with children because it's just plain fun. It's never boring, and there's always this element of excitement to it. The things they come up with or learn; it's so great to watch and be a part of.

arts and crafts, outside games, and language. I love to share new words and teach children the meanings of new words. It's challenging to explain a definition to them at times!
