About me

Hi Smart Sitting families! I’m Agnes. I’m a nanny with over 16 years' experience working with children of all ages. I have a passion for working with children and helping them grow into happy, healthy individuals.
When I was growing up, I always enjoyed watching my neighbors' kids. Upon heading off to college, I chose to pursue a degree in Special Education. While in college, I worked as a therapist aide to rehabilitate hearing-impaired adults, and, after graduation, I became an assistant teacher, so I am skilled in taking care of multiple children at once.
I am committed to providing the highest quality of care for all the children I work with. I understand the importance of building a strong relationship with both the child and the family, and I work hard to establish trust and open communication. I am a patient, compassionate caregiver who is dedicated to helping your child feel loved, valued, and supported.
My skills and experience as a nanny are vast and varied. From 2007-2013, I was a full-time nanny for a family with two kids, a boy who was 6 and a girl who was 3.5. From 2012-2020, I was also a part-time caregiver for a 2 y.o. boy. This is in addition to many various occasional babysitting jobs and temporary positions. As such, I am comfortable with a range of childcare duties, including feeding, changing diapers, managing schedules, and engaging in educational activities. I am skilled in creating age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development, and I enjoy incorporating play into educational activities to keep things fun and engaging. I am also comfortable with household duties, and I understand that busy parents need all the help they can get, and I am happy to lend a hand wherever I am needed.
As a working professional, I know that I can always learn more and improve, so I occasionally enroll in courses and training programs related to childcare, including maintaining an up-to-date certification in first aid and CPR.
I am a compassionate, loving, easy-going person who adores caring for children and I am completely dedicated to what I do. My honest, hard-working, dependable nature helps me empower the kids I know to do their best in whatever they set their minds to!
I look forward to meeting you and your family!

In 5 years, I hope to be...

…a caregiver with a certification as a Newborn Care Specialist, working with an amazing family! (And maybe even traveling with a family and working abroad!)

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

…executive functioning skills! Helping children learn schedules, habits, and daily expectations is one of my top priorities. I also find many children benefit from calming activities, such as reading, sensory play, or completing puzzles, that can help them slow down after a busy, exciting day.
