About me

I grew up in a Boston suburb with two older sisters. I danced competitively until I was 18. I also loved school. I would practice my handwriting for fun and have always loved learning. I went on to study Sociology at Boston College where I graduated Summa Cum Laude. I spent the past year doing a volunteer-service program with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, through which I worked at Cottage Housing, Inc., an organization providing supportive housing to previously homeless families.

I started babysitting at the age of 13 and have been ever since. I’ve worked as a weekend/date-night sitter and part-time nanny in the summers. I started with one family when the oldest was 2 years old; he is now 12, with brothers who are 10 and 5. Working as a summer nanny involved taking the kids to/from camp, planning activities, playing, preparing food, getting them ready for bed, and assisting with light laundry. I started with my other family when the oldest was 4; she is now 10 and her brother is 5. My role with this family entailed similar childcare duties. I have also traveled extensively with these families. At Cottage Housing, I led after-school homework help, planned holiday events, and facilitated groups such as yoga, dance, sports, crafts, movie nights, and science experiments for K-12 youth. I also ran parenting support groups and did trainings on CPS services, bystander intervention, race, LGBTQ+ safety, and more. I am CPR/First Aid/AED certified. I have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. I also know basic Spanish.

Many of my personal hobbies contribute to my ability to be a great care-taker. I care deeply about holistic health. I love yoga, walks/hikes, travel, plant-based cooking and baking, dance, reading, and writing. I do my best to inspire kids to be imaginative, to cultivate their intuition, to think critically and curiously about the world, and to become the best versions of themselves! My approach to childcare can best be summed up by my empathy. I can balance discipline, chores/cleaning, and play, but I believe it all starts with my ability to connect emotionally with families and tune into their unique needs.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

feeling fulfilled in my life and doing something I love!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Cooking and baking, yoga and movement, science experiments, reading books together, helping with schoolwork and cultivating a love of learning, board and card games, activities that stimulate mindfulness such as I Spy, Highs/Lows/Ha-Ha's, and noticing something new in the room. I also love to get involved with activities that interest the children and let them teach ME! I have played a lot of basketball and soccer, swam, and made cartoon YouTube videos with children I've cared for. None of these are particular skills of mine, but I am always open to trying new things with kids and love letting them be the teachers. They help me get out of my comfort zone, too!
