About me

Hi my name is Sarah! I've worked with kids for a while now. My experience ranges from babysitting at home, interning at elementary schools, to being a live-in nanny. I'm from the Boston area and moved to New York for college. The school I attended was The American Musical Dramatic Academy and my major was musical theatre. After college I was rather blessed as I was able to work in theatre during the summer every year put until the pandemic when things were temporarily shutdown. One of the skill sets in my bag of tricks is speaking multiple languages, which includes English, Portuguese, Spanish, working knowledge of American Sign Language. Communication is very important to me, which is why I’m always working to expand my knowledge of languages and sharing new experiences it with the people around me.

Much like my love for learning, I love watching kids discover new things! It’s why I choose different ways of teaching by incorporating things they like into the material. Sometimes it’s teaching baby sign language, hopping on a galaxy ship to conquer multiplication, or shaving cream to practice spelling. All fun ways to learn while help keep them on track to success. I've also worked with kids with special needs before and helped them communicate through music, slime, and drawing. I love to take skills I learned from my time in school like playing instruments, singing, reading, and doing crafts with kids. Now we all know kids can be a handful at times, which can lead to messes but don’t worry I’ve got you covered from spit up to first periods, and spills to crumbs. I’ll have your back and will clean it up. I’m also a good cook and have a few tricks up sleeve to help picky eaters.

In 5 years I hope to be starting my own little family. Right now I have a kitty and I love her so much but I definitely plan on growing my family in around 5 years. Now in regards to the business side of things opening a little Brazilian restaurant/bakery would be lovely.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Activities and skills I love to teach and share with children are critical thinking skills, steps to learn how to be independent, communication, time management and basic life skills. That would be catered to their age of course. For younger kids being polite and picking up their toys. Slightly older kids how to clear the table, and make their bed. And last but not least for preteens/teenagers how to do laundry, or how to prepare small meals like eggs, pasta, veggies, etc.
