About me

I grew up in a quiet town in Northern Virginia just outside of Washington D.C. I was an only child but had my fair share of playmates from school and even on my street. I have always gravitated toward the arts. I received my first camera for my 11th birthday and it proved to be life changing for me. My parents were very supportive of my artistic tendencies. After graduating high school I found myself at a small art schooling in Wilmington called Delaware College of Art and Design. After an intense two year program and a scholarship, I moved down south to Georgia and attended Savannah College of Art and Design where I earned a B.F.A. in photography. I moved back home with my parents, as that was right at the time of the 2009 recession. I worked as a receptionist at a dental office that I had worked in on and off since high school. There I learned patience, how to communicate effectively, and that I did not like working behind a desk. I moved to Philadelphia, with no plan, in the early part of 2011. I got some part time work here and there but after trying a few different avenues and failing, I landed my first nannying job in 2013 and have been doing it since.

I have been incredibly fortunate to work with wonderful families over the course of my career. From colicky infants to preteens, I have worked with them all. I have been responsible for transportation to and from classes, schools, sports, and other various activities. I have also been in charge of light meal prep, snacks, bottle feeding, and even making baby food. My number one goal is to make sure everyone's needs are met, regardless of age. I have taken care of pets, laundry, and even made grocery store runs. I pride myself in doing what needs to be done to the absolute best of my ability.

Over the years I have found great joy in incorporating as much of the arts as I possibly can in working with children. It is so valuable in helping them become well rounded people. Music classes and doing crafts have been such a wonderful way to bond with children, as well as educate them. I think it is an important way to allow them to express their feelings and creativity in a healthy way.
