About me

I grew up in Bloomfield, New Jersey where I graduated from Bloomfield High in 2015. Over the years I’ve worked as a nanny, taught skating lessons to children, and worked birthdays parties. I recently went back to school and am pursuing a degree in Theater Education and Montclair State University. I grew up the oldest of two siblings and the oldest of all my neighbors and cousins. I always liked the idea of younger kids looking up to me and naturally assumed the care taker roll. My only sibling is my younger brother Terry who has severe non verbal Autism. For as long as I can remember I have had to care for another person. I believe that having gotten to grow along side Terry has taught me everything I know about responsibility, patience, compassion and the appreciation for the different ways children express their gifts.

I started babysitting for my neighbors and younger cousins when I was 13. At 15 I started to teach C.C.D. at my local parish and continued to do so for 7 years. When I was 17 I was part of an internship program that allowed me to shadow an elementary school teacher two days a week. Child care and development has been the majority of my work experience. I have nannied and babysit children from 5mos- 14yrs. I have experience with children with emotional disabilities as well. My childcare duties have included diaper changes, swaddling, feeding, meal prep, transportation, homework help, game playing, and bed time routines.

I have been performing since I was six years old. I had a lot of social anxiety until my teen years but having a creative outlet gave me confidence and helped me grow a great deal. I have gained so much from music, theater and now stand up comedy. That is what made me realize I wanted to study theater education so that I can provide other children with an outlet and set of skills they never knew they had. I’ve been figure skating my whole life as well and it was when I started teaching lessons that I learned the joy of helping someone do something they thought they couldn’t meant more to me than winning any competition.
