About me

I grew up on the island of Jamaica where I enjoyed going to the beach and spending time with my family. I am currently pursuing my nursing degree and having experience as a nanny will also provide me insight for communicating with children in that field.

Professionally, I've been a nanny for over 6 years. Coming from a large extended family, I've had to babysit younger cousins or siblings and that prepared me for the professional aspects of the role. I have had experience caring for children as young as 3 months to as old as 12 years. While working with the infants and toddlers, I would help with their motor and cognitive skills, sleep training, take them to classes, play dates or appointments, and meal prep. Working with the older children such as preteens, my duties have involved, meal prep, and taking them to after school activities, appointments or play dates. I like to teach children educational games that will improve their vocabulary or their memory!

I like to view each child as a unique individual and act accordingly. I go by the method that what may work for one child may not work for the next. Children are very impressionable, especially at young age, they are like sponges. If I am able to have a positive permanent impact on a child that will stay with them even after I have transitioned from caring for them, then I have done my job.
