About me

I grew up in Evansville IN in a blended family of 5 children. I was the middle child with two older sisters and two younger brothers. One of my favorite memories with my siblings is when we would go outside and play baseball in our backyard. My parents were quick to get me CPR certified so they had piece of mind while I watched my younger brothers. I always loved singing and dancing as a child which led me to attending and graduating from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana with a BFA in dance. Post grad, I studied as a trainee with a ballet contemporary company in St. Louis. Ever since high school, I have been a dance teacher for kids of all ages. I have lots of experience with kids through teaching, as well as, working at a children's museum.

Once I got to college, I nannied for a doctoral candidate who was an opera singer. She had a 3 year old boy and I started out watching him during her rehearsals on campus. Once the show got closer and she needed me more, my responsibilities grew to picking him up from daycare providing dinner, bath time and bedtime. I have also taken care of my neighbors with two boys ages 7 and 9, along with a family friend with four girls ages 7-13. Those responsibilities included dinner time, fun activities and bedtime.

Being a dancer, I love helping kids develop their kinesthetic movement. I have many tricks up my sleeve with movement games that let their creativity develop. Challenging kids to think outside the box is one of my favorite things about helping kids grow. I'm very passionate about making sure kids have the tools and foundation to build confidence, positive thinking, compassion and understanding.
