About me

I was born and raised in Oakland, California along with my two siblings, myself as the middle child. As a little girl, I was involved in a soccer club, practiced ballet and was mesmerized by flowers. As a child, I was a wanderer and to this day, I find that wanderer still lives inside me, encouraging me to journey down paths that don’t have a clear destination, all with the intention of living authentically to what is aligned with who I am and who I want to be. After originally attending my first two years of undergrad studying Psychology, I realized that the path I was following was one that was not intended for me. Since realizing that, I have spent years exploring different corners of the world and have travelled to Costa Rica, Malaysia, Morocco, South Korea, France, Italy and Greece. From helping to build schools in Costa Rica to caring for infants in a Moroccan orphanage, I’ve melded my love of children, passion for humanitarian work and desire to see the world which has created a balance that gives, provides and teaches.

I’ve worked with children for over seven years and although I have experience working with a variety of different ages and up to three children in a private home, the majority of my experience is with infants and toddlers ranging from newborns to two year olds. With most of my infant experience, I began working with the families when their baby was anywhere between a few weeks old to a few months old and care typically lasted on average for one and a half years or until the parents transitioned to daycare. I’ve worked as a part-time babysitter, full-time nanny, date night sitter, assistant teacher of first grade students, birth doula and postpartum doula. I have my Adult and Pediatric First Aid, CPR and AED certification I am a trained birth and postpartum doula.

I enjoy writing reflective pieces, photographing nature / travels and practicing yoga but encompassing each and everything that I enjoy, a sense of adventure is woven throughout which is one of the many reasons why I love working with children. Their sense of adventure is bountiful and I’ve come to realize that they teach us just as much as we teach them - if not more.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

are play hide-and-seek, paint, do origami, make our own stories based off a book we're reading, bake chocolate chip banana bread muffins and explore what makes us feel happy / sad / confused / goofy, etc.
