About me

I am a dual US and UK citizen and I grew up in Asia and London before attending high school in Atlanta, GA. I began nannying at 16 years old - for a family that had just moved to the US from France and whose children were learning English. I would pick them up from school and help their mother with bedtime. I also babysat for a range of families via my schools babysitting forum.

After high school, I attended Kings College London, U.K and I nannied throughout my university experience, deeply caring about the best way to cater to each child’s individual needs and talents – and mastering the challenges of getting around London with 3 lively boys! (5yrs, 3yrs, 1yr). My duties included collecting the 1-year-old from his daytime nanny when I was done with classes, picking up the older boys from school, getting them to afternoon activities, helping with homework, cooking healthy dinners and putting the kids to bed. The boy’s native language was Vietnamese, however they were learning French and English simultaneously at their school. I would help them with this and we would practice their new languages while we travelled to their after school activities.

After college I returned to Atlanta and had a live in position working for a busy single Mom with two girls aged 3 and 7. In addition to helping her with bedtime, getting ready for school and taking the girls to extra curricular activities I enjoyed cooking healthy meals that met their dietary requirements. I’m very interested in nutrition, being active an health so this was great. After this I moved to New York and worked in advertising for a bit, I liked it but really missed working with kids, the experience taught me that working with children is something I always want to do in future, I find it deeply fulfilling.

During the pandemic I moved back to my parents home in Atlanta and nannied for a family with two boys (6yrs and 3yrs). The eldest had development difficulties, and I assisted him with virtual school and his occupational therapy. Both parents worked from home and we worked in tandem to help the boys, I wanted to ensure I was following their child rearing method. The family and I are still close, and the experience deepened my interest in nannying, working with the children and being intuitive and sensitive to the needs of the parents too.
My personal philosophy for child care is to use play and education to encourage curiosity, and to maintain fair and consistent discipline, both of which allow each child to grow. I am personally very active and love to run around with the kids and let their imaginations run wild.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

I'd like to be involved with children and complete my pilates instructor training. After working with a child who has special needs, and forming a close bond with him, I'm also considering a masters in that arena at some point in the future. Through all this I can nanny and even if I did a masters would want to continuing nannying as well!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Keeping active, kind and curious about everything - and really fostering the confidence and independence needed for the fast moving world we live in. If they have an interest in something (e.g Dinosaurs) I try to really foster it, and ask them questions and listen. In a learning environment I have used their personal interests to try and make learning more engaging for them! Of course I work in tandem with the families parenting style, but really try to teach kindness. I believe in setting boundaries ect but reward kind behavior and sharing. I think also building their confidence, and learning to be kind and patient with themselves also!
