About me

Hello! My name is Patrycja. I was born and raised in Poland. I had such a great childhood! My friends and I loved to play outside with barbie dolls, hide & seek, but my favorite game was to play school and I was very serious about it. I thought I will be a teacher when I grow up! Now I have 6 years of childcare experience. I was babysitting family friends’ kids and it brought me so much joy, so in 2015 I decided I would love to try exchange program called Au Pair.

I started my program in 2015 and finished in 2017. For these two years I was taking care of two boys. When I started they were 4 and 9 years old. My main responsibility was to spend time with the toddler while older boy was at school. I was arranging playdates, going to the playground, doing lots of art projects, making sure he is taking his naps at regular time, changing dippers, making lunch and dinner. To this day we are still in touch and visiting each other.

After my program I found a great family and started with them September 2017. Kids were 4 and 6 years old- a boy and a girl. I started as a full-time nanny. Parents were taking train to the city so I was responsible for feeding kids and helping them get dressed before school as well as walking to the bus stop and dropping off to preschool. While kids were at school, I was helping family with groceries and kids’ laundry. I was responsible to organize our schedule to make sure that there’s time for fun and play dates as well as after school activities. In March 2020 I stopped working for them due to the pandemic.

During summer of 2020 I found a new family. They have two kids- 8 years old boy and 10 years old girl. When I started working for them, their school district decided to split the kids into two groups and rotate their school and home-schooling time. It was definitely something new for all of us. Homeschooling was definitely more involved because most of the assignments kids had to do by them self and they weren’t used to that. After school we were going for a walk or bike rides or we were learning how to rollerblade and playing lots of boardgames. I was also making lunch and dinner for kids.
