About me
Hello!
My name is Hannah Breshears, and I've worked as a nanny in NYC for almost two years now. I come to New York from Wichita, KS, and I have a big family. I have three siblings (brothers and a sister), and now I am lucky to have three (soon to be 5!) beautiful nephews back in KS! I graduated college with my BFA in Musical Theatre, and I am always happy to sing along to Frozen, run scales on the piano, or be an audience member for your child.
As a child I was an "old soul." I read voraciously, and I also really enjoyed horseback riding, and piano lessons. I had a wide array of interests that I've found to be really useful in connecting with the kids I nanny for; we almost always have something in common!
I started taking classes and gaining childcare experience in late middle school/early high school when my family took in a set of twins through foster care. They were with us for five years, and they are thriving and adopted today! Throughout high school, I often volunteered in church nurseries, helped run choir/music camps for younger kids (including a summer internship working in childcare), and babysat. Two summers ago, I worked as a full-time, live-in camp counselor for a group of 19 twelve-year-old years over the course of 7 weeks while simultaneously co-heading the Performing Arts Department. Additionally, last summer I traveled with a family to Portugal for a 6-week stay.
While in New York, I've worked with ages 0-12 years. I am CPR/First Aid/AED certified (Pediatric and Adult), have a working knowledge of baby sign language. I've worked as a tutor and private music instructor and love to incorporate those skills as well. I've worked in a full-time capacity, coverage for holidays, as a date-night sitter, and handled overnight care. I'm city-savvy, and can find my way just about anywhere. Currently, I work as an after-school nanny for one twelve-year-old girl on the UES.
In my free time, I still enjoy a good book, connecting with friends over food, and exploring the city. I believe my job as a nanny is to keep your child safe while having as much fun as possible. I hope we can work together if this sounds like a good fit!
