About me

My name is Hannah Hakim and I grew up in Allentown, PA alongside two brothers! I've always loved singing and acting so I went to Northwestern University and received my Bachelor of Arts in theatre, with a certificate in musical theatre and a minor in acting for the screen in 2020! I have been nannying, working as a virtual assistant, and writing and starring in 6 children's webisodes with the National Theatre in DC since graduating!

My first professional childcare position started when I was 13 years old as a babysitter for the children in my neighborhood. I have been a date night sitter since! Since then, in 2016, I worked as a lifeguard at a children's day camp where I taught 2 to 16 year olds how to swim. In 2017, I worked at a sleep away camp for 10 weeks where I was a counselor and a lifeguard. I worked primarily with 10-14 year olds. I had to make sure the campers cleaned, ate, were getting along well with the others, and having a fun time! My job was to always be there for when a camper needed me. I was on the clock 24 hours a day. My next professional childcare position was from September 2020 to November 2020. I worked as a nanny for two children - ages 2 and 7. My main responsibilities were to feed the children, facilitate e-learning, create activities for us to do together, take them on trips to the park and local zoos, lead educational activities for them, facilitate nap time for the 2 year old as well as help him with potty training, take them to music classes, and plan fun days for them. My next, and most recent professional childcare position was with a family with a 2 year old and an 8 month old. I worked with them from May 2021-June 2021 part time (until I moved out of Chicago). With that position, my main job responsibilities were to clean up after the children, bottle feed the infant, prepare food for both kids, watch over them, and play with them. I have been certified as a lifeguard twice, but both certifications have since expired.

I really love to work with children because I love their sense of play. I love to be outside, do yoga, and sing! I have so much fun working with children because with them, each day is different.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Classic yard games that you can do anywhere! Like Mother May I, Red Rover, and Tag! With one family, we spent a lot of time in their garden picking out ripe tomatoes and I really enjoyed that. I also really love to put on shows with the children I'm babysitting or do crafts with them; anything that uses their imagination, I really love to do.
