About me

My name is Candie Alexander. I come from a really big, tight knit family. I am my parents' 7th daughter and I have 2 younger brothers. I currently have 12 nieces and nephews all of whom I love dearly. As a child I was very creative and I enjoyed drawing and painting. From a young age, I developed a passion for reading and it's still one of my favorite things to do. I've always loved animals and I currently have a 4 year old dog. I started college at Andrews University as a Biology major and I finished up my degree at Medgar Evers College. I'm currently going back to school to pursue a career in Nursing.

While attending school I've always worked part time. I've been working with children professionally for over 10 years. I've taken care of children between the ages of 2 and 14. I particularly enjoy with with school age children. Some of the responsibilities I've had over the years include school drop-off and pick-ups, taking children to and from their extracurricular activities, assisting with schoolwork, preparing meals, keeping track of their daily schedules, and planning activities when there's down time. I also tutored Math and Science to middle school and high school age children during my freshman year of college. I am CPR/AED/First Aid Certified and fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

I love reading and I'm always excited to recommend a book to a child that I'm babysitting or even try reading something that they like. I enjoy building relationships with the families I work for and I still keep in touch with most of the families that I've worked with over the years. Being a nanny/babysitter is so rewarding because you're able to watch as a child grows over the years and it's truly a privilege to be a part of that process.
