About me
I grew up in a very small town in North Carolina, as the youngest of 4 other siblings. Growing up in the country really gave me a love for being outside and adventuring. I also have always loved making art/music from as early as I can remember. After high school, I went to my town's community college where I worked on my associate's degree. I am hoping to attend Brooklyn college in the springtime to work on my BA in child education. Since I last was in school I have moved to two states working with children along the way, including daycares and nannying for different families. I have enjoyed it so much and am hoping to continue that work as I finish my education.
Starting at age 14 I babysat for multiple families with multiple children in my town. I then got a job at a daycare working with children from newborn to 12 years. Classrooms ranging in sizes of 6 to 20 children per class depending on age. I then moved to Richmond VA and continued on working in a center, my class being the 1-2-year-olds, as well as being the art teacher for the entire center. Sadly when covid hit the centers were shut down but, I started a job as a nanny for a very sweet 1 and 4-year-old. Duties including, meal preparation, covid save outdoor activities, changing diapers, and providing fun and educational activities and crafts. I then moved to NYC and continued nannying for a then 2 now 3-year-old girl. This job includes navigating the city in a covid friendly way for outdoor activities, meal prep, educational crafts, and bathing and hair care. I am first aid and CPR certified and have completed many childcare training courses throughout my time working in a center.
I once heard someone say of course they want their child to be happy but, they also wanted them to be happy as an adult and this really resonated with me. 1 to 5 years old is the most important developmental time in children's lives and I want to ensure that time is filled with a loving caregiver who provides positive reinforcement, tools to manage feelings a creative outlet that brings them joy. This in the hopes they can navigate through life and be the kind people of the future that make it better.

An art teacher at either an elementary school or a childcare center!
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I'm very into letting kids be creative through art, music, or whatever interests them really. I also really love to teach children how to regulate their feelings and give them the confidence to be bold and whoever they want!
