About me

I was born born and raised in a small country in South America called Guyana, me being the youngest of two sisters. Growing up back home, my simple pleasures included jump rope, playing board games, with one highlight being Snakes and Ladders that I remember fondly playing with my older sister. In starting to school, going to sports events and taking part in contests were all great pass times. I attended St. Johns College in Guyana and graduated with my diploma in general studies. At the age of 21, I got married and was blessed with a child of my own, and in raising my son, for the past 24 years, it only felt right to take my knowledge and assist those who need it the most.

Throughout my entire child care career, I've held and gathered experience dealing with all age ranges and groups of children. My longest family ties were from the Davis family, where I spent 10 years. In this, I assisted in raising Griffin from the age of 5 to a teenager at the age of 15. My knowledge and experience also goes beyond this as I've assisted families with their new born, as young as 7 weeks to 3 years old, and 3 months to 2 years old. These responsibilities included bottle training and prep, diaper changes when required and organizing outing trips to the zoo or park, whichever the family was interested in at that time. One skill I've started to pick up on in caring for infants is learning a bit baby sign language, though I am not fluent. Moving on to a more professional level with child care in working with Bright Horizons, I've gained more short term experience in helping and assisting families with their children.

Since before working with children as a job, I've always has a passion for children, in raising them. caring for them and just simply watching them grow from these tender little things into the people and adults they are meant to be. One of my main mindsets and philosophies that I carry with me from day to day is simply, as long my child that I am caring for, and their family is happy with the work I produce, then I'll be happy. I don't see this as merely a 9 to 5, but as an opportunity to share what I know and learn from what others can share with me.
