About me

Hello! My name is Natasha. I was born on the beautiful twin island republic of Trinidad and Tobago West Indies, where my mom and other relatives still reside. I am number six of nine siblings. I grew up with a connection to nature. We would pick fruits and vegetables from the backyard and be outside all day long. I attended the Point Fortin College (high school) from 1988 and graduated in 1992. I migrated to the United States in 2003 and have been living in New York ever since.

I have been working with children for as long as I could remember. I grew up in a close-knit community with a lot of cousins, close neighbors, younger brothers and sisters and was always responsible for babysitting someone, not realizing that this was the training ground for the career path I would take in the future. I became a professional nanny in 2003. I have worked with children from ages 2 months – 8 years old with multiple families. Some of my responsibilities include bottle feeding, potty training, sleep training, meal planning, organizing playdates and playgroups, encouraging creativity and fun, light housekeeping, taking children to extra -curricular activities, doctor’s appointments. I am certified in Pediatric CPR and First Aid and Water Safety Training.

I am an excellent communicator and due to my humble beginnings, I strongly subscribe to the phrase ‘It takes a village to raise a child’. I ABSOLUTLY LOVE working with children and nurturing their growth and development. I believe in gentle parenting, I bond with children through connection, meeting them where they are and shining a light on what they think is important, what they think is worth sharing and worth pursuing.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Creativity. I love sitting with children and listening to them use their creative minds and imaginations and follow their lead. I love helping along their exploratory journey by introducing music, singing, dance parties, movement, different found materials for creating things like rainbow hats or paper towel roll binoculars.
