About me

Hi! I’m Olivia! I grew up in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and attended Carnegie Mellon University and got my BFA in Vocal Performance. My work in Musical Theatre has me constantly evaluating the internal motivations that drive the characters I play and those around them, which I believe has given me a keen eye into understanding human behavior - very helpful for guiding small humans as they navigate the world!

As a childcare professional, my approach is strongly grounded in “gentle parenting” and the “good inside” philosophy. I’m a follower and workshop student of both Dr. Becky and Deena Margolin, LMFT (BigLittleFeelings on Instagram), and have found their guides to be extremely effective for behavioral as well as emotional progress! BLF potty training guide also came in quite handy as I assisted with potty-training two of my kiddos at my last posting. Speaking of, my most recent childcare posting was 2 wonderful years (2021-2023) spent with a family of 6 on the UWS: Mom, Dad, 3 LOs, and their grandmother. I was honored to provide a loving, strong hand of guidance as their kids grew from ages 1, 2, and 4 to 3, 4, and 6 (and the youngest ready to start preschool!) upon my departure. In past postings, I’ve worked with kids from age 3 mo. to 14 yrs. I’m an old hat at bottle feeding and diaper changes, and have what my previous employer referred to as a “boundless scream quota.” I never lose myself in the throws of a tantrum. I’m proficient in the kitchen, and I don’t mind pitching in with tidying to keep a household running smoothly. Sing-alongs are another specialty of mine as well as funny voices and accents - always popular for bedtime reading!

Outside of task responsibilities, my greatest strength as a childcare professional comes from my commitment to understanding what fundamentally drives humans to behave in the ways that we do. I am so curious about the human experience and have done extensive study on child psychology. It is so important for children to feel seen and understood, and to have someone there to help them make sense of all that they are absorbing as they navigate the world. I consider it an honor to be their partner and guide in that navigation!
