About me

A little about myself: My name is Isabelle and I am a 24 year old student. I grew up in Forest Hills with my two brothers. I was very athletic growing up. I graduated from Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in Astoria, NY. My major was Drama. I decided to stay close to home for college and attended Borough of Manhattan Community College in downtown Manhattan. I started there in 2016 and graduated in 2020, as I was a part-time student. I graduated with an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. I am currently a student at City University of New York-CWE with a major in Early Childhood studies with a co-major in Disabilities Studies.
I started working at PS196Q After School Program when I was 17 years old. There I was a counselor who would work with kindergarten to 5th grade students. I would supervise, interact, and help with homework/activities. We went to the park most days when the weather was nice. During my time there, I was introduced to parents who then sought out my services for babysitting. I babysat many kids from the school including Jaiden from when he was in kindergarten to 4th grade; Samantha for 2 summers when she was 3rd and 4th grader. Adam&Alia for 2 summers when they were 3rd and 4th grade. It consisted of me picking them up from camp/school and watching them until their parents arrived home.
When I first started at the after school program I had no idea that kids would be my passion until it was. It pushed me in the direction of pursing a teaching degree. I love to be creative and children are always teaching me more about myself and the world we live in. It is a blessing to be able to work and scaffold children!
