About me

I grew up in a beautiful old hotel in a very rural and serene section of eastern Pennsylvania. I have three sisters, two older and one younger. As a child I loved to explore the woods and fields. I still love to be outside and highly value my connection to nature. I was, and am, an avid reader with a large imagination. I loved to be doing anything artistic: painting, origami, drawing, sculpting. These interests have certainly carried into my adulthood. In 2020, I graduated from Binghamton University with a degree in comparative literature and german, with a minor in french. Following my graduation, I have pursued independent creative writing projects while nannying for a lovely family of professors with a toddler son. In the future I hope to combine my passions of working with children with my creative pursuits and interest in alternative approaches to education. In short, I hope to teach in developing and experimental styles.

I have over six years of childcare experience. I worked in a daycare facility all throughout high school and college. During this time I supervised the children, organized various arts and crafts, enrichment activities, and outdoor activities. In the last two years at this daycare, I taught both pre school and pre-k courses for children ages 3-5. In addition, with my language education, I am quite comfortable and enthusiastic about teaching young children the basics of both German and French (greetings, numbers, months, days of the week, etc). In general, I really enjoy working with kids and cultivating a love for learning in young students. In the past year, I have worked as a live-out nanny for a wonderful family with a sweet 18 month old son, I started this position when he was 9 months old. On a daily basis, I arrived at work and changed him, dressed him and fed him and got him down for his nap(s). We did enrichment activities such as identifying colors, animals, and shapes. I really enjoyed this position and felt it was such a special opportunity to watch him learn and grow over these last nine months!

My approach to childcare prioritizes creativity, learning, nature, growth, communication and mutual respect.
