About me
I am 30 years old and I am originally from France. I grew up with 3 older half brothers and I believe this is why I like taking care of kids, because I always wanted a little brother or sister !
After graduating at 19 years old, I didn't really know what to do and started babysitting my niece which made me want to start my career as a nanny, I moved to Paris and had a dream of living in New York City so I figured the best way to start off in the city would be as an au pair, I arrived in October 2014 and never looked back !
I have met some amazing families and developed a strong bond with the kids I have been watching, even though I am not caring for them anymore they ask their parents when can I come over for a playdate or to visit. I like to see myself as a big sister when I care for kids, I am here for the good moments but also the sad/upset ones. I want them to know they can talk about their feelings and emotions with me, I will be all ears and of good advice. The values I want to teach them the most are to respect others and themselves, gratitude, sharing and taking turns and kindness among other values...
I have literally been taking care of every age from infant to teenager, since 2010 ! Dropping them to school/picking them up, helping with homework, cooking a simple and healthy meal/dinner, giving bath, diaper change, putting them to nap/bed, taking them to the park/activities or play dates, doing arts&crafts, reading...
I have professional child care experience with...
- Infants
- Toddlers
- Preschoolers
- School-aged (K-5)
- Preteen
In 5 years, I hope to be...
I hope having children of my own to be honest this is all I can think about, I spent all these years taking care of amazing babies/kids and it gave me a lot of experience and undeniably baby fever, I know being a mom is hard but it is so worth it !
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
Reading books to me is very important so that's a thing I try to do at least twice a day, I also love arts and crafts which is a great way to teach/review shapes, colors, materials. I enjoy cooking and baking and sometimes will ask if the kid wants to participate and help me out, which often helps for picky eaters because they will be proud eating something they made ! Spending time outside is also important, if the weather permits it I'm usually outside at least once a day. If the weather is not so good and we don't feel like staying home all day, museums or playdates are great !
