About me

My name is Kathy Ann and I am the mother of two beautiful children. I am originally from the beautiful island of Trinidad and Tobago. Growing up, I always babysat for my family members and helped with raising the younger kids in the family, which is how I fell in love with taking care of children. I also worked in retail right off of high school and then migrated to the US where I began working in a daycare and soon after became a full time nanny.

I started working with my first family in NYC who I was referred to by a family member. I was in full charge of three children, five days per week. My responsibilities included but were not limited to: caring for their premature baby, administering medication and minor first aid to them if sick and injured, organizing activities to enhance children's physical, social and emotional well-being, and promoting language development skills through reading and storytelling. I also helped to manage an active calendar of activities including school and extracurricular activities. The job came to an end when the kids were all in school full time.

Right after that I was referred to another family by a friend. I cared for a 5-month-old boy five days per week. My responsibilities included setting up playdates where the child could interact with other children and engage in learning activities, travel planning, packing and personal shopping related to the child, meal planning and preparation for the child, and maintenance of toys, closets, bedrooms, and play areas. That job came to an end because the family was relocating. Once again I was referred to a third family by another friend and cared for their 3-month-old boy. I provided a safe and loving environment for the baby, ensured the baby’s play area, sleep area and changing areas were kept clean, and engaged with the baby through play and music.

My goal in life is to help as many children as I can to reach their full potential in life. It’s a beautiful thing when you are able to help raise an infant all the way to independence, to be a respectful, well mannered human being and know that you had a part to play in that child’s life.
