About me
I grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona. As the oldest of three children, I learned how to be responsible, patient and mature at a young age. As a child one of my favorite things to do was read books. I studied Early Childhood Education at The East Valley Institute of Technology and completed a 2-year program. There, I learned all about the development of children from birth to age 5. We got the opportunity to volunteer at daycares, Head Start programs and create events for children in our area. During this time, I was also beginning my first childcare job at a daycare.
I have since been working with children for 7 years now. I worked in daycare for 4 years with mostly infants and toddlers (2 months old to 4 years old). Through the years I developed many lasting relationships with families and children. I babysat regularly for many families from the daycare with kids of many different ages. Eventually, I decided I wanted to be a nanny. I began working with a family that had a 3 month old baby. This was my first job as a full-time nanny. I eventually moved away from Arizona and started working as a nanny In New York City. I began working with a 4 month old little boy. I would read to the baby through the day, practice tummy time, and communicate with parents frequently. As first- time parents they wanted updates on their baby through the day. This little boy grew up to love books so much that he even had a favorite author, Eric Carle. Since he loved his book collection so much, I would do activities and crafts based on his favorite stories in order to use them as learning opportunities. This family had a second baby while I was with them whom I also cared for and loved very much. When I left the older boy was about 2.5 years old and the younger about 8 months old. During this time, I also was a part-time nanny for another infant until she was 1 year old. We went to parks, classes and the museums together.
I love to be creative, teach and explore. It is always a pleasure to help a family care for their little one and I always do my best. to help shape their little minds by introducing new things to them.
