About me

I grew up in El Salvador, the smallest country of Latin America, and left 5 years ago to come to the United States of America to pursue my goals. Once I arrived here, I knew there was a big world of opportunities available and waiting for me. I always have a positive attitude and that gives me the strength to continue to pursue my goals in life. Education is very important to me, and when looking at internships after highschool, I knew I wanted to focus on helping others. I really love kids, spending time with them, playing and talking with them, so I decided to focus on childcare.
First, I took an internship at a daycare and had an amazing experience, leading to a position as a camp counselor for kids under 6. I also started taking care of my neighbor's kids from when they were babies, and over time more families asked for my services based on my experience and good recommendations. It feels so good to feel useful and supportive to parents that need care, and I will never forget my first families. It was hard to watch the kids grow and need less and less care, but I was so grateful to be a part of their lives. While in college, I decided to follow a nursing path, getting my associates as a LPN, but also taking the Newborn Care Specialist program, so I can be more useful at work with newborns and provide the best care. Right now, I am focused on working in more full-time roles, with infants, toddlers, and younger kids, where I can best use my skills as a nanny. Throughout my time working in childcare, I have worked with ages newborn to 8 years old.
I have developed a wide range of skills in my time working with kids, including maintaining infant schedules for sleeping and eating, daily duties such as bath and feeding times, diapers changes, play time, and socialization/playdates. I love to come up with and coordinate different types of activities to enhance physical and intellectual development, and support learning and verbal skills. I have also assisted with light housekeeping duties as well as running errands, meal-prepping and feeding the kids, and have regularly traveled with families to help with vacation activities and childcare.
When around kids, I always try to understand them and I love experiencing and exploring their little big world. I focus on making sure they feel safe and protected, so that they can trust me. I believe kids are the future of this world and I love to contribute and help make their childhood the best it could be!
