About me

I grew up in Everett, Massachusetts as the youngest child to loving parents. I have two older brothers and sadly was the only girl. As a child, I enjoyed riding my bike, going to the park, reading books, and playing dress up with my cousins. I currently hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts-Boston. Post-graduation I have been working as a part-time ABA therapist for Specialized Autism Consultants which has helped me realize my passion for working for a small knit family and with a children who have disabilities. In the near future, I hope to seek a license as an ABA therapist and a concentration on Mental Health Counseling. My degree and current work experience ties into my work of child care due to being attentive to a child’s needs, being educated in the field, and while still maintaining my sense of creativity.

As a part-time ABA therapist, I started working with my client that has special needs at the age of 6 and it will be a full year of working with him in August 2021. I deliver ABA techniques in a 3-hr session, supervise his activities, and assist with his daily living routine such as brushing teeth, washing hands, and eating with utensils.
As a past part-time nanny for an Arlington family, I worked with two girls starting from 8-months of age to 2 years old and worked with them from May 2019-August 2020. I would change diapers, warm formula milk, clean dishes, light meal preparation, feedings, reading, activities, pick-up from school, and playing at park on warm days.
I am fluent in Haitian-Creole and a beginner in Spanish. I received CPR training in November 2020 and it will expire in two years. Lastly, for my undergraduate degree I took several courses in early childhood education and am seeking to pass the Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL) despite my desire for counseling because I do believe that being a well-rounded provider is a must for working with either children or adolescence. As a childcare provider I am conscientious, empathetic, energetic, and an effective communicator.

While working with children, I love creating crafts and activities for them. This may look like exercise or simply a cute do-it-yourself project that captures the child’s style and interests. Personally, I love reading to children as well and will find books that they love around themes or characters that they enjoy. The significant aspect that motivates me to work with children is simply being fun and creative in how I interact with them because I believe that play is a form of therapy and it fosters deep conversation with children and is a form of a stress relief.
