About me

I grew up in the small town of Newnan, Georgia in a family of four, with my twin sister being my only sibling. I was a very active child growing up, always playing outdoors and into lots of sports. I fell in love with art at a very young age and knew I wanted to be an artist at five years old. As I grew older, my love of art turned eventually into the love I have for fashion. I went on to study Fashion Design at the University of Georgia and received my Bachelor’s in Fashion Merchandising and Product Development & Design. After college, I worked at a non-profit for children and continued to nanny for families before moving to New York City. My passion for art and design led me into my career of being a fashion designer.

I have been working with children, in some form or another, for many years now. In high school, I babysat every chance I had for lots of families in my town. I grew so many connections from these babysitting jobs; I decided to start a Summer Art Camp at my house where I entertained kids of all ages during the long summer days. I held the Camp for four years with over 20 kids in attendance. I also spent those summers privately babysitting infants and toddlers. After high school, I would babysit for families over summer vacation, during the school year for long-term positions, and occasional date nights for families in my college town. On college breaks, I had a consistent nannying job with a family of three children. I worked for this family every summer for the past five years and have been able to travel with them on all their summer trips. While in college, I worked for a family and was their full-time nanny and house manager. They hired me to help with their three kids aged 7, 9, and 10. They wanted someone to care for the kids after school, coordinate travel between activities, run all household errands, grocery shop, and prepare all meals.

I find working with kids to be rewarding in so many ways. I can never get enough of their lovely innocent personalities and truthfulness. Kids have taught me so many different things, and their curious minds and playful spirits made me grow a passion for working with kids.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

a senior designer working at a womenswear brand that is sustainable. In college, I was able to intern for two designers whose brands are very sustainable from the fabrics and trims they source to the factories they use. This had a big impact on me starting out in the fashion industry and I want to continue to work under sustainable designers.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love to do arts and crafts with kids. Since art is such a big passion of mine I like to get creative with kids any chance I get. I also am very active so getting outside and going for walks and playing sports is something I enjoy doing with kids. Tennis is my favorite sport and I love to teach kids how to play. Reading is important to me and I like to encourage kids to read as much as they can.
