About me

My name is Katie Lewis, and I grew up on Long Island with one sister who is 7 years younger. We’re still best friends today. Growing up, I absolutely loved all things Disney and I still do! My love of singing brought me to SUNY Purchase where I received my undergraduate degree in Opera. As I auditioned around NYC, I worked in restaurants and babysat often. I worked at Gymboree for two years, teaching music, gym, art, and preschool classes. This experience made me realize that I would love to work with young children somehow in a creative context. I discovered music therapy, and knew at once that it was the right fit for me. I just got my Master’s in Music Therapy from Molloy College. I am currently a board certified music therapist, and I love working with my clients who are all children who have special needs.
I’ve worked with children since 2007 from infants to preteens. I have been a part time and full time babysitter. I feel comfortable working with any age. I have had every responsibility you can think of, from changing diapers to helping with homework. I love being active with the children that I care for, taking them on playdates, to the playground, to museums, and zoos. I have experience taking care of multiple children, working for a family for two years that had three children.
I love working with children more than anything, and I provide quality care by understanding your child’s needs and acting like a professional at all times. I am a child at heart, and I truly enjoy getting to know each individual child. My years of experience have made me an excellent and sensitive caregiver for any child/children.
