About me

I have been working in childcare for many years. I grew up in Rockland, MA watching my cousins and sister. In middle school I took the First Aid, CPR, Babysitting course at my local rec center. I began babysitting for many families with children of all ages, from infancy to 12 years old. For the younger ones, I would change diapers, warm breast milk bottles, take the stroller to the park, make lunches, give baths, and play with all the toys including building blocks and stuffed animals. For the older kids, we would work on homework, practice for sporting or artistic events, make dinners, and the bedtime routine.

Throughout highschool, while still babysitting, I began working at a daycare as a teaching aid. As an Aid, I assisted teachers in educating young minds, infancy to pre-k. My responsibilities included feeding, classroom setup, organizing games and activities, and sanitizing and disinfecting the classroom. At the same time, I was working at the rec center, where I began as a Program Leader. In this position I orchestrated several youth programs, ages 3-13, where I facilitated many programs. I later earned my lifeguarding certification and took a position at the waterfront. In this role I created schedules for weekly activities and events, including swim lessons.

I am currently studying at The New School in NYC, earning a BFA with a major in Musical Theater and a minor in Political Science. I have also completed the conservatory program at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Although I am currently an actor and have been doing theater for many years, I also have enjoyed many other hobbies including horseback riding, basketball, photography, and history. Each has disciplined me and taught me to become empathetic and well organized.

With any family I strive to create an acceptable, safe, fun, healthy, and engaging environment. My background in theater allows me to be adaptable, creative, organized, welcoming, energetic, and reliable. One of the most exciting things I can do is introducing young minds to the wonderful world around them and encouraging them to explore it. I look forward to the opportunity to expand this to all families I meet.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

In five years I hope to be successful within my career while maintaining some wonderful friendships. I greatly value all my relationship, with friends and family, but I hope to have become a more competitive player within my field.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

As an actor, I love learning new things and putting it into something physical. For example, being a history buff myself, at summer camp there was a young boy (around 12 years old) who was not able to grasp the concept of Manifest Destiny. To help it stick in his brain we went over his study guide and began to act it out. I also enjoy many different sporting activities, having coached many different sports I am wildly versed in different activities and can help with the practice. Also the kids just love shooting the soccer ball with their babysitter in the net. I am passionate about making learning fun, but also letting the little ones take control of what they want to do and what works best for them.
