About me

I grew up in Lenexa, KS with one wonderful older brother who happens to be on the Autism Spectrum! As a child I enjoyed imaginative pretend play, performing, arts and crafts, and playing outside. I graduated in May of 2020 from Texas Christian University where I earned my BFA in Musical Theatre! I moved to NYC in the fall of 2021, and I have been auditioning and working as a nanny ever since! I have also been fortunate enough to perform in several productions since arriving here.
I have worked as a part-time sitter, full-time nanny, dance instructor and camp counselor since beginning college in 2016. I have worked with children ages 6 months to 12 years. In my first full time nanny position, I watched 3 children aged 1 year, 7 years, and 9 years in a 2 bedroom apartment in Kansas City. I helped with diaper changes, meal times, online schooling, outings, chores around the house, etc. We had countless dance parties and played LOTS of pretend, but we also got serious about school work and treating each other with love and respect. It was an incredible experience in which I grew close with the family and enjoyed watching the children grow. I now nanny for a family with 3 children in NYC ages 4 years, 8 years, and 12 years. I spend most of my time with the 8 year old girl picking her up from school, taking her to activities, getting her ready for bed, etc.
I adore all things creative, so I love helping children find their own creative outlets and discover new passions! I am also passionate about education and providing all children the opportunity to pursue a wonderful life of learning. My outgoing spirit and willingness to meet a child on their level make me a wonderful match with energetic children as well as those who need some help getting out of their comfort zone. I want to use my skills to make a positive impact on the children I work with and make them feel safe and comfortable to grow and find their identity. I am so grateful for the people in my childhood who encouraged me and helped me to become the person I am; I hope I can make a similar impact on the children I get the opportunity to work with.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Attending graduate school to become an early education teacher! My number one dream is to become a mom of several children and possibly adopt down the line. I really just hope to be working with children in any capacity using my skills to help them grow.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I am very creative so I enjoy doing arts and crafts, having dance parties, playing dance games, making movies, writing stories, playing pretend, etc. That being said, I am also very adaptable and interested in following a child's lead when it comes to their interests and energy. I want to give them the tools and guidance they need to explore their own identity and independence. I am also well-equipped to help with school work in all areas of study and have experience facilitating online school work (zoom calls, google classroom assignments, etc.). My extensive training in the performing arts makes me qualified to participate in all kinds of artistic activities with children but also speaks to me outgoing nature, energetic spirit and ability to adapt to changes on the fly. Though I enjoy creating a fun and light-hearted environment, I also appreciate the necessity of quiet down time, discipline, and appropriate behavior. I am able to remain a figure of authority with children while maintaining a lively, fun relationship.
