About me

Hello, my name is Tessa. I am an only child but the eldest of 10 cousins. As as young girl I enjoyed reading, performing arts, arts and craft, and also played a few instruments. I graduated from Brooklyn College with a B.S. in Health & Nutrition Sciences. Since graduating I have held a full -time job in the Sales Industry. I am in the process of becoming certified Labor, Lactation and Postpartum Doula to extend the services and care I provide to children and families at the start of their lifecycle creating a loving experience from the start.

I’ve been working with children since I was 15. I have taken care of countless children over that time. From part-time sitter, date night sitter, summer counselor at the Brooklyn Museum, to after-school pick up and care. My responsibilities have ranged from preparing snacks and meals, bedtime stories, interactive play at the parks, play dates and homework assistance, changing diapers, feedings, and bathing.

I love working with children because there is never a dull moment! They are super fun to be around and have so much that they can learn as well as so much that they can teach to me. I love being a childcare professional because I love to leave a long lasting positive impact on the children I care for.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

A midwife. My long term goal is to go back to school to become a midwife to provide women with a positive healthy birthing experience.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I really love to get to know a child and find out what they like. As a tour guide, I have the skills to craft curriculum based on the needs or interests of the child. Ex. If the child is interested in a specific animal I’ll teach them age appropriate facts and follow it up with a drawing or coloring activity.
