About me
I grew up in a small, rural, Texas town called Orange. It's on the Gulf Coast border of Louisiana. I love nature and grew up playing outside. I love teaching kids how to identify local plants and birds and the world around us.
I went to undergraduate school in Texas. While working my way through school I worked summers and year round with Camp Fire USA leading after school programs for children and in the summertime I was a counselor at both their day camp and sleep away camp. Immediately following graduation, I accepted a full-time nanny position for a Grammy Award Winning opera singer. I worked for her for two years from the time her child was 2-4 years old. We would be in cities for three months at a time and I planning local activities in cities like Brussels, Amsterdam, Puerto Rico, Chicago, Washington D.C., and beyond.
When her son was pre-school age I ventured away from nannying and accepted a fellowship at Studio Theatre in Washington D.C.. After my year there I went to Shanghai, China, where I worked at Mcgarrrybowen ad agency for a year. Following my time there I applied and was accepted to California College of the Arts to work on my MFA. While I was in graduate school I worked with FOGG Theatre company and helped plan their children's play and I also volunteered with Young Storytellers which teaches kids how to write plays.
I am a comedian and writer and I support my artistry with working with kids. What I love about nannying and babysitting is that I can share my passion of theatre and storytelling with the most imaginative people- children. They keep my brain working and dreaming.
I am CPR certified and have experience teaching at the college level as well as tutoring and teaching younger kids.
