About me

I grew up in the lakes region of NH along with my 5 siblings. I enjoyed riding ATVs, snowmobiling, hiking, kayaking, camping, and trips to the beach. I was very active in my community volunteering, playing and coaching sports, and part of various groups including National Honor Society. After graduating high school, I attended Emmanuel College in Boston. I pursued a degree in early childhood education for a year before needing to leave due to financial constraints.

Upon leaving college, I immediately began a career as a nanny. I have worked as such either part or full time for 13 years. I have worked with 3 families with ages ranging from 4 mo. to 8 yrs. which included multiples. My duties included diaper changes, feeding, meal prep, transportation, daily activity planning, day trips, age appropriate class participation, curriculum implementation (including a second language), med management, doctor's visits, and overall wellbeing of the children. I have taken a CPR class, have experience as a tutor, as well as baby sign language and some Spanish.

Now I get to tell you about why I do what I do, why I love it, and why I am so passionate about my approach. I will go on as long as someone will allow me! I do not think I see children the way most people see them. I see them as humans. For example, you wouldn't punish a friend for feeling overwhelmed or in need of a new perspective. You would assist with gentle guidance and understanding. Children deserve the same. I try to get to know them as individuals and help them learn fundamentals via activities and subject matter they enjoy. I believe in a healthy, active lifestyle grounded in kindness and mindfulness, and hope to instill those fundamentals as strong foundations for their futures. I teach by example which includes understanding, acknowledging, and dealing with feelings in a healthy way as well as exploring the many ways people communicate. I do my absolute best every day to assist in raising smart, kind, confident, well rounded humans. I am immensely proud of my littles, who they have become, and the role I have played to help get them there.

Thank you for reading and for your consideration!

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Professionally, I would be happy as a nanny or finishing my degree in early childhood education. Personally, I would like to own a home on a lake with a garden and dogs!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Anything outdoors, kindness, helping others, a love of reading and learning, the ability to enjoy the little things, mindfulness, and the ability to laugh at yourself.
