About me

I spent the first 11 years of my life in Southern Illinois, then moved to Naperville Illinois and have lived here since. I am the oldest of 6 children. That’s where my passion for working with children came from as the oldest. I helped with my siblings and babysit evenings and summers. I have my associates degree in child care and development from the College of DuPage. I started working at day care centers and as a live in nanny.
For the past 30 years I have been a nanny who comes and goes home at the end of the day.
I have worked with many families with children of all ages. Three of my long-term jobs I started with a newborn and stayed with the family when they had their second child and continued on until that child went to full day kindergarten. Caring for infants I would feed them bottles and baby food. I would give them tummy time and they would progress to crawling. I have lots of experience with potty training. As the children get older we would do age-appropriate crafts, puzzles and board games. I enjoy going to the park and to the pool with the kids. I have CPR and first aid certification.
In my free time I enjoy rubber stamping to make greeting cards. With five siblings I keep busy with all my nieces and nephews and I am a great aunt. I believe each child is different therefore they are cared for in different ways. As a child grows you see their strengths and weaknesses and help them to fulfill their potential. I love reading to kids and believe it’s very important for them to be read to. I enjoy being outside and love to take children to the park and for walks.
