About me

I grew up in the suburbs of Richmond, VA as the second of five children. I have an older sister, and three younger brothers that absolutely adore. I fell in love with swimming at a very young age, and I competed on my hometown club team until senior year of high school. Although I quit swimming before college, swimming and my love for the water and Earth's oceans fueled my passion for marine life, and I went to Tulane University to pursue a major in Environmental Biology, with a specialty in fisheries. I loved it so much that I stayed an extra year past graduation to get a M.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. After getting my Master's, I moved back to Richmond and took on a field manager position with a company that provided on-site testing for film production "bubbles" in the area. I completed this project in early March 2021 and now live in Lincoln Park, just north of Chicago.

Throughout my life I have constantly had families to work with, whether on weekdays, weekends, or to stay with the kids while the parents leave town. I started out as the neighborhood babysitter when I was 12, and in these positions I was caretaker of children of all ages (infant through 11). I took on my first full-time nannying job during the summer after my sophomore year of college (kids ages 6 and 8), and I babysat for several other families during my college years (one family had 5 and 7 year olds, another had 4 and 8, and many more). I also worked as a live-in au pair/mother's assistant during my graduate school year (daughter, 13), and to this day I frequently return to New Orleans to provide care and assistance to this family. Responsibilities that I have taken on include providing companionship, assisting with homework, preparing healthy meals, completing housework, coming up with creative activities, driving children to extracurriculars, changing diapers, bathing the children, and even constructing IKEA furniture. I am very versatile and willing to help out wherever needed.

I look forward to spending time with your family! I absolutely love children and believe that excellent childcare is critical to their development. Children are the future after all!
