About me

I grew up in Palatine, IL as the oldest of four siblings. Growing up I loved to be outside and anything that had to do with art. This has stuck with me to this day. I graduated from Palatine high school in 2018 and went to my community college for two years getting my general education classes out of the way before going to a university. Now I attend Northern Illinois studying to become an Elementary School teacher. This ties extremely well into my nanny career as nannying is what pushed me into a career that works directly with kids.

I have worked with children for 9+ years now! Ages ranging from infant - 12 years old. My responsibilities differed from each families needs. For younger kids it was directed more towards keeping them engaged with playing and crafts, prepping meals, helping clean up toys and washing hands. Older kids typically prefer independent play but I still interact as needed. I still make meals, drive to and from school and activities, go to parks, pools and libraries and of course help them with schoolwork. My most recent nanny position was with a 3 month old baby. Where I learned so much and gained a lot experience with babies and their needs. I also have experience with children on the autism spectrum. I am CPR certified in both infant through adult. As well as AED training.

As I have previously mentioned I love to go outside and be outdoors. I also love to do crafts and come up with fun art activities. Something that motivates me to work with children is making a difference in a child's life. Whether it be small or big, making an impact on them that helps them grow into life is the reason I love working with children. A philosophy I have on my approach to childcare is that I believe children learn through play. It allows them to explore, discover, create and imagine.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

In 5 years I hope to be an Elementary School teacher teaching preferably 1st grade. I hope to be making a difference in children's lives and helping them through their own challenges they face with learning and being in school for the first time. I want to be someone that the current me will be proud of.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Activities I love to share with kids is playing outside or at a local park. I am a huge sports fan so playing with baseballs or footballs in the yard is fun! Also doing chalk art on the sidewalk or jumping rope. Anything that has to do with being outdoors. I love to bring art into kids lives. I feel it is a great way for them to use their imagination. So painting with brushes or fingers and drawing or coloring, even playing with clay is something I love to bring into kids world.
