About me

I grew up in the west suburbs of Chicago. I am the fourth of five siblings. As a child, I was in gymnastics and I loved to swim. I enjoyed drawing and arts and crafts projects. I graduated from Northern Illinois University with a B.A. in Psychology. Since graduation, I have taken a few childcare positions as well as obtaining a part-time job as a supported living assistant (SLA) for my client with autism.

I've worked with children since I was still considered a "child". In middle school, I volunteered at my old elementary school to help the younger children in school plays. In high school, I volunteered at a daycare helping primarily with the toddlers and occasionally lending a hand with the infants. Since then I have taken on one-time, date-night, part-time, after-school, overnight, and long-term nanny positions. Before Covid, I worked a nanny position for over two years for two children (aged 4 and 12 at the time). Their father goes on business trips out of state which required me to be a live-in nanny for days to a week at a time. I was responsible for pick up and drop-offs to and from their school, sports and activities, playdates, airport, etc. I handled morning and bedtime routines (bathing, brushing teeth, getting clothes out for school). I prepared breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I entertained children through books, games, arts and crafts, music, and more. We've taken trips to the library, mini golf, planetarium, parks, and more. I helped around the house with cleaning and organizing, children's laundry, and grocery shopping.
I've also held a position working with infants through a church community. In the position, I was placed amongst other sitters with a group of 4-10 infants ranging in age of 3 months to a year. We were in charge of changing diapers, feedings, nap time, and playtime. I am also CPR certified through Red Cross.

I love being creative and using my imagination to create new things and I find that children can sometimes be the best teachers at those things. My goal is to encourage children to continue to use their innate imagination skills and help them build on them to create a better future.
