About me

Hi! My name is Julia Weinberg. I was born and raised in Richmond, VA. There I grew up with one younger sister -- she is my absolute hero, she currently works as an environmental researcher in Boston. From there, I completed my Bachelors' Degree at Kenyon College in Drama and Religious studies. Now, I am a working actor in Brooklyn. Mostly commercials and small roles on tv, catch me on your Instagram feed in those pesky ads! Imagination is my job and being around kids is the thing that reminds me just how special creativity can be!

As an older sister, my identity has always been based around caring for others. My sister was my life from the moment she was born. I always wanted to be the best friend to her I could be as well as being a role model. She was and remains to be an incredibly active person so my youth was also spent keeping up with her. This instilled me a real sense of play which would lead me to becoming a camp counselor at the age of 14. I worked at a camp in Richmond, VA called Passages Adventure camp. There I worked teaching kids how to whitewater kayak and cultivate life skills that could be used on and off the river. I spent all my summers at Passages until I was 21 years old. This created a base of childcare in my life that I brought with me to postgrad life. When I moved to New York I balanced regular week night babysitting with other jobs in the fitness industry. With the onset of the pandemic, I returned to a a more full-time babysitting schedule. Most recently I babysat a three-year-old girl during the week. I helped facilitate her virtual learning as well create days at home that were enriching. We spent lots of time building forts, reading, and getting to the park when it was safe to do so.

Kids are just the best. Getting to be a positive influence on their lives is one of the biggest honors of my life. My life was positively shaped by young adults throughout my youth and I hope to be able to pass on that gift to a new generation!

A successful, working actor with time to mentor or teach other young artists.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I am a big fan of dance parties and I am NOT a good dancer. My dance parties are a way for me to remind myself not to take myself so seriously -- I tend to learn new moves from kids I babysit. I am also just a huge bookworm so getting to read with kids is a favorite!
