About me
Hello, my name is Kiera Ford. I was born and raised in the Bronx! I am the eldest of three siblings who I love dearly. Growing up I always had a passion for creativity, caring for others and Theater and I still carry that passion till this day.
For the past eight years of my life, I have devoted my time to working with kids and helping them grow. In the past I was a teacher's assistant where I assisted the teacher in managing behaviors, creating lessons and caring for elementary students with special needs. After five years of working in the Department of Education, I moved on to being a teaching artist at a Non profit. I teach at risk students theater, arts and crafts. On the weekends I nannied for an incredible family for a year. I helped with house work, cooking and even helped the kids with their homework.I also nannied for a family of four, for three years in the mornings. The kids ages ranged from 2-12. My main responsibilities were breakfast, tutoring, laundry and getting the kids to school. I have learned how to provide kids with structure and how to be firm but also nurturing at the same time. Connecting with children has been a major part of my childcare experience.I'm a big believer that anyone working with kids should leave the kids feeling like they can conquer the world, and I'm proud to say that's what I have done.
It brings me joy to assist children and families with their everyday lives. I’m good at being fun, encouraging, educational and assertive when needed. I would love to be a helping hand to your family.

In 5 years, I hope to be...
Better than what I am today. I'm big on trying to improve myself daily in all aspects of my life. I also hope to be in a full time job working for a family that I have become apart of.
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
Arts and crafts.I love using the arts to help kids learn and step outside of their comfort zone. From making animals out of different materials, to imaginative play, I enjoy doing it all with kids. I also love to create songs and games to help kids learn how to tie their shoes and encourage them to finish meals.
