About me

I'm a born and raised New Yorker. I grew up as an only child and became known for my infamous "why?' questions. As a child I also enjoyed art, reading, and all the museums NYC had to offer which as continued as an adult. I graduated in 2013 with a BA in Cultural Studies from Chatham University in Pittsburgh PA. I'm currently in the process of Orton Gillingham (OG) certification. This will allow me to use a specific method of tutoring to work with dyslexic children.

For the past 6+ years I've worked as a nanny for a family of 3 children (2 boys 1 girl) who are currently ages 10, 9, and 7. When I began working with this family their boys were in preschool and their daughter was just 3 months old. As the children have grown my responsibilities and relationships with them have as well. When I first began with them much of my day was filled with bottles, diapers, and potty accidents. Meal prep was simple breakfast, packing simple lunches, and spending most the day at home with the baby. Since then my responsibilities have expanded. I travel with them, make large dinners, create grocery list, and manage the children's schedule. My time with this family has also shuffled between schedules that includes part time, full time, late nights, and weekends. The flexibility in that schedule has allowed me the opportunity to work with other families during off hours. I typically have worked with at least 6-10 additional families a year for occasional babysitting that could include up to 6 children ranging from ages newborn to 10. Along with my wonderful experience as a babysitter and nanny, in 2019 I began my career as a preschool teacher at an independent preschool in Manhattan.

I believe in the saying "it takes a village to raise a child" and I take my time with children (however long or short) as important moments. I believe in supporting the social and emotional development of children of all ages.
