About me

Hi! My name is Zoe, I graduated from Pratt Graduate, where I received a Bachelors in Industrial Design. I am currently doing freelance design, so most schedules you have would be compliant with mine! I have worked in childcare before, both as a nanny and preschool teacher. I thought childcare would be a great way to balance my remote Freelance work and working with people, in this case kids - my favorite kind of people! I often design children's toys and objects, so I like to spend time with kids because it benefits them as well as me!

I am very COVID conscious, and currently live in Brooklyn.

I am fluent in German, French and English. I was born in Germany, and moved to the US, when I was a child. I was raised in a German speaking household and spent my school years between Germany, the US, and France. I taught at Philly Kinder German Pre-School during Highschool, and babysat for a couple of families in Brooklyn during college. I have two language accreditations, Goethe Institut Zertifikat Niveau C1, German, and the Certificate: Attestation de Réussite DELF Niveau B1, French.

I am very outgoing, and will happily do homework, art, sports, cooking for your kids! I used to be a nanny for a German girl and went on all kinds of fun adventures together, like selling homemade lemonade, going to the museum, painting or playing soccer. I can bring art supplies or plan activities in advance. I used to do self portraits and go on sketching trips with one of the kids I nannied.

I am also experienced watching many kids at once, I used to be a preschool teacher!

Many of my babysitting jobs require me to speak with the children in a different language only, French and German.

I have a van in the City which I am happy to use to pick up your kids if they need to be driven around! I want to understand the kids I spend time with, and help improve their life, way of thought, education, and enhance their way of looking at life!

In 5 years, I hope to be...

A successful Designer with my own studio or Store front! I am a designer at heart, it is what I went to college for. I love to design toys and children's games, so I naturally like to spend time with children. While I work on freelance and expanding my design career I would like to make some extra money in child care! This is what I love to do, I enjoy nurturing young minds! I have learned many skills in school, and would like to share these with your children, whether its painting, arts and crafts, or creating a robot or game. I often ask the children what they would like to learn that day, and if I have the tools to teach them I often try!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

My favorite kids that I still babysit, are kids that I get to share what I love with. My favorite babysitting job is still ongoing, and I love it so much because I have created a bond with this kid. We share the same interests, its almost like a little sister I never had. We do all of the things I wish I could have done at that age. We make art together, we sell lemonade in the summer, we paint and do self portraits, she even helped me come up with the idea for my Design Thesis, at only 8 years old! (it was a kids toy.) We also go roller-skating, play in the park, tell ghost stories, and carry her around on my back all day like a little monkey! I like being with kids because you are nurturing a future generation that will determine the state of the earth. If I can make one kid more aware, more compassionate, more caring, imagine how the Earth could be if every kid was given this kind of attention, and nurture.
